I moved to this area from Minnesota in November 2005, beginning federal employment close to the Twinbrook Metro Station. My wife joined me in February. Since we did not know the area when we relocated, we decided to rent for at least one year. 

Susan started working in the District in April. We began spending time on weekends sightseeing and going to restaurants in D.C. We noticed that well over half the time our exit off the Metro from Maryland was at Gallery Place-Chinatown. We discovered that we greatly enjoyed the ambiance and feel of the Penn Quarter area. 

When we began to look at real estate, we decided that a condominium purchase somewhere in the District would best meet our needs as “empty nesters.” We attended many open houses in several neighborhoods, viewing at least a dozen different developments. We again discovered that we were gravitating more and more toward properties located in Penn Quarter. 

At one open house we met Loic Pritchett, a member of Long & Foster Real Estate’s “Simunek Team.” We were immediately taken by his cordial, low key, low pressured approach. His style was reminiscent of our Midwestern real estate experience, where we had previously purchased and sold five properties.   

Within two weeks Loic helped us find a wonderful condo at the Lafayette. We then met with Richard Simunek who, along with Loic, professionally guided us through the process of successfully completing the transaction. 

We are very excited about living in Penn Quarter, and highly recommend Loic and the Simunek Team to anyone interested in this vibrant part of D.C.
