Visit the Penn Quarter Fresh Farm Market

Spanish Wine and Cheese Festival This Thursday at 5 p.m.

The Spanish Wine and Cheese Festival comes to the Penn Quarter Fresh Farm Market this Thursday at 5 p.m.  The Festival, a two-week extravaganza courtesy put on by Jaleo and its famed Chef Jose Andres, will sponsor a Spanish Cheese tasting at the market, located on 8th St. NW between D and E.

Holly Foster of Chapel’s Country Creamery will tell us how her Maryland Farm is producing  quality aged cheese and will start a pilot in the type of raw milk cheeses so popular in the Spanish speaking world.  (Holly is at the PQFFM each Thursday if you have any questions, or just need some cheese.)  Cowgirl Creamery (which sells Holly’s cheese if you need a fix any other day of the week.)  co-sponsors the entire festival and will be on hand to talk about cheese quality and make sure that the free samples are up to their exacting standards.

WHERE: 8th St. NW Between D and E

WHEN: 3:00- 7:00 p.m. Every Thursday through November 15.
