Goethe-Institut Washington Summer Film Series in Penn Quarter

Summer Dreams Every Monday Until August 27

What do you imagine summer in Europe to be like? Outdoor Parisian cafes? Wandering down cobblestone streets in Italy? Biergarten? Hikes in alpine meadows? Clothing-optional beaches?

We all wish to have a perfect holiday – but that doesn’t always happen.  In a variety of humorous ways, these films deal with that reality – whether it’s first love (French for Beginners), a first trip to Italy in a Trabant, the infamous East German car (Go, Trabi, Go) or misunderstanding (Mr. Hulot’s Holiday). All films have English subtitles.
