Cotemporary French-American Food at Poste Restaurant in Penn Quarter Washington DC

Simunek Foodies Report: Poste Restaurant in Penn Quarter is Perfect for Any Occasion

Since my mom is French and my Dad and Mom met in Montreal I decided for my mom’s birthday that I would take her to an architecturally interesting building that houses a French restaurant with an American twist. Poste Restaurant, located in Hotel Monaco, is directly across the street from the Portrait Gallery.  It’s situated smack dab in the middle of Washington DC’s bustling Penn Quarter. Poste had a very open and welcoming atmosphere, which I wanted for her birthday. I’ve also followed the reputation of the Sous Chef, Todd Wiss, from other restaurants where he worked. We were very impressed by the service and the food was very good.  If you go to Poste, we recommend that you order the chef’s tasting menu of seasonal ingredients and that you sit outside in the Courtyard before the cold weather returns. Check out their happy hour or bar scene too. The vibrant and warm staff enhanced our dining experienced for that special day.
